Yes, the scale is logarithmic. As to the rest of this sentence - again, I find myself at a loss understanding your meaning. Dmax is a scale measure of light / dark ness. Therefore it must be an absolute value. What does lighting - strong or otherwise have to do with it? Yours, still confused...
