I have a 790, struggled for months with lines, despite constant cleaning and wasting of ink. The nozzle test often looked perfect. Then I did a double clean, a nozzle test (which was perfect), and immediately after this a purge test print (a block of each colour). This showed erratic fine lines through the Black (despite the nozzle check being perfect). I took it back to Epson on the last day of the warranty and they eventually agreed it was faulty and changed the heads, since when it has been perfect. Just my experience!

Cheers,
David
