I have 5 Lacie 200GB firewire external drives, which I have had for 6 months and they are fast and reliable (wood touched), operating on a PC with XP pro. The fact that they are external and not affected by any potential PC problems is a major plus as far as I am concerned. I am in the process of backing them up on a Lacie DVD burner and am actively looking at tape back up. As I have lost so much data in the past, I am now implementing backup on 2 different media.
