Dear Joel

Can you explain how my Formac came in a Mitsubishi box?

Nope. Never bought one. The only one I have used was a clients about a year and half ago and it didn't do anything for me. Maybe it's because the only place to buy them here is in the box from bigbox discount stores. I could be biased for no reason.

Our shop primarily uses Mitsubishi, ViewSonic and LaCie. I used an old Radius PressView up until three years ago and now have it at home. It (when profiled) still competes heavily with all the monitors in our shop even though the red gun craps out after four hours and has to be shut down for 30 minutes.

Right now I'm on a Mits DP2060U (9 months old) and the guy behind me is using a LaCie (two years old). I usually have to set up all the monitors. The complexity of the LaCie vs Mits made go with Mits.

I just like a straightforward OSD that lets me calibrate. Nothing against LaCie. They are fine monitors. Just never like the OSD,the hood, the BlueEye, the USB interface.

The A/B switch on the DP2060U is nice if you like running one monitor for two systems. For awhile there I had both my PC and Mac hooked up. Wanted to try it with laptops for quick setups but never found the time...too much email!
