Depending on what sort of PDF you are talking about it is unlikely that you can edit it in Word. It also depends on how the fonts were used in the PDF. It would be much easier to edit the original before it was made into a PDF. If it is a total re-write you can select all in Acrobat and then copy to Word.
I know of a printer who bought two pieces of software for font accurate PDF editing. They cost �4,000 each.
