Getting CAD files (often .DWG or DXF) into publishing software can be easy
or very hard - it all depends on the job and I have never found an easy way
that works every time (I have had to deal with this a few times).

I get the CAD folk to export out as AI or EPS if they can or get them to
print with a PostScript printer driver to file. Acrobat is often very good
at translating the .ps or .prn file into a PDF before going to Illus or
Photoshop or whatever the task is.

Hope this helps,

Stephen Marsh.
