Forgive me, but the Apple forums have proved no use, I have been banging my
head against this one all afternoon/night, and can't help feeling that I am
missing something pretty basic here:

trying to run classic from osx installed on an secondary internal HD. OSX
classic preference panel seems to prefer to tryto use an impossible system
folder on an external firewire HD (can't use it because it was copied across
as part of some other software and not installed... as OSX then goes on to
tell me). said (osx) system panel shows the primary internal HD (with a
perfectly good os9.2 system on it... i am using it to write this email), but
it is greyed out and says that it contains 'no valid classic folder' or
somesuch.

I have re-installed both os9 to internal HD 1, and OSX to internal HD2, but
at no stage was I asked which system folder I wanted to use as my 'classic
environment', as my friends seemed to think I would be, and I am now back to
where I was about 6 hours ago... i.e. nowhere.

How do I create an OS9 system folder that OSX will use for classic?

And all this because I thought that using the classic environment would ease
me into using osX.
