Instead of using 'Grab', which you forgot to mention above, you can also try this: command-shift-3 grab entire screen (or screens for multiple monitors) command-shift-4 crosshair: press & drag to grab user-defined area Also: Press the control key with the above to grab to the Clipboard (ready for pasting) instead of to a file on disk.
