Well I don't know any magazine repro departments who would have the time or
the inclination to make proofing comparisons like this either.

But if you (or Becky) want to see a CMYK proof of your files you can have a
Cromalin made by any reputable repro house yourself, and it's an excellent
way of proving the colour and quality of your CMYK files. (Any printer who
can't match a Cromalin shouldn't be in business IMHO)

But my suggestion to Becky didn't demand CMYK proofing -  any good form of
digital printing will show the difference between digital captures and scans
from film, even if the digital captures have been interpolated to make
bigger files. Assuming a level playing field, that is.

I've been shooting 100% digitally for 4 years now, and although clients and
art directors have made all kinds of comments about my work, I've NEVER had
an image rejected because the original capture file wasn't big enough.
