I am adding file info to a lot of files all of which can have the same basic
info so I thought an action would be just the job. Trouble is, although I
can get the action to add the "general" info section - name, caption etc - I
cannot seem to get it to add the keywords. The action I have written is
quite simple >open file>open file info>fill in details in general window
then go to keyword window>fill in keywords>close file info>save and close.

Dear Amanda

A new piece of software called Image Info Toolkit could be just the answer. See...

David Riechs has a review and sample at.....

The released version handles jpegs. An update for Tiffs is being sorted at present.

IIT does not re-save the jpeg but keeps the quality setting. The useful feature is saving keywords in a database for use globally. Cost is 48 Euro but I think if you buy now and accept the update for Tiffs later its 40 Euro.
