The Economist today, 19 Aug , had an article about a high speed scanning camera that has just one mono pixel. subject is illuminated by rgb laser beams, a mirror is moved by actuators in scan mode light reflected through a lens onto the pixel and a high res picture obtained. the device is made by http://www.microvision.com/ and is primarily aimed at miniature cameras for use in places like endoscopes.
