Hi list

I am obviously in overdrive! It is interesting to read how my college musing
has developed.

This and other remarks in recent posts on this subject all point to the fact
that there are more profitable ways of making a living, if not as enjoyable.

I have just received a note from a good client of mine who took early
retirement from Eurocontrol in Brussels a year ago. (This is the EU air
traffic control agency that controls aircraft management of our skies. Or is
supposed to).

With one other partner, he has set up a business doing a similar thing as a
consultant. In his first year he tells me he has reached a turnover of
400,000.00. He expects to reach 2m in their second year of trading. The
down side is that he has recently had to visit Baghdad and Basra airports
touting for business. Apart from these two places, it is amazing to hear
just how many airports around the world still put oil lamps out to guide jet
aircraft in to land at night!

However it has struck me that if a student comes into photography because of
a keen interest in imagery and cameras, does that mean that a young person
with a keen interest in aeroplanes and flying could make it as an air
traffic control consultant.

Maybe this could be a side line for photographers!

Yours cynically? Not really. I'll just carry on doing his exhibition work.

Kindest regards to all
