Must say I have used the above scanner for a couple of months now- with
Windows 2000 Professional and had no problems whatsoever. (also with
vuescan) I was about to upgrade to Windows XP but thanks for the warning. We
had this discussion about XP the other day and I was surprised that
everybody answering seemed to be happy with it while I have heard about
some problems as mentioned by Paul:

'Thanks for the suggestion. I have done this a few times. I still get Error
4, "Could not confirm the scanner connection... " Despite the fact that in
the control panel, the diagnostic test confirms that the scanner is present.

I've had a lot of problems with this machine, probably time to return it for
warranty repair. Other people seem to have found it ok.'

So my question is: I am worried if I upgrade that I will have compatibility
problems with some of my soft/ and hardware? I know you can run a
compatibility test via the Microsoft Website that checks your computer... I
am just wondering: is XP soo much better that 2000 Professional to go
through the hassle and run the risk?

Cheers any comments appreciated
