I may be getting the opportunity to obtain an Epson 9600 wide-format printer for my department. We would most likely share it with the health system's marketing department, so we would include the 10/100 ethernet option with the printer so that it could work over the network as our offices are a fair distance apart. Each department would use the printer about equally.
I was wondering if anyone on this list has used this printer, and in particular, what they think of the Epson driver that would come with it. I have never been particularly enamored with Epson's driver support, but I have seen output from the 9600 and I decided that I could probably live with drivers. Epson's driver would also allow us to use the printer on both OSX and Windows XP.
If a RIP program would be the better choice, can anyone recommend one over another? Any insights wold be most appreciated.
