Mark, welcome to the wonderful world of CMYK profiles. None of the above can be answered (intelligently) though without knowledge of how much you have linearized your RIP. Even explaining who to figure out which settings to use is hard to explain unless you have 4 hours on site, also I'm not familiar with all the BasICColor options, so the best I can offer is this: Try to make two profiles: 1). Black start 10 Total CMYK 400 Total Black 95 Black intensity - Medium to heavy (whatever that may be) Neutral GCR medium (somewhat similar to black intensity) Color GCR medium (somewhat similar to black intensity). 2). Black start 10 Total CMYK 260 Total Black 95 Black intensity - Medium to heavy (whatever that may be) Neutral GCR medium (somewhat similar to black intensity) Color GCR medium (somewhat similar to black intensity).
