Hi James is not quite correct in his assessment of USB1 cables. The difference is one of higher specification - heavier cables, extra sheilding, etc. A USB 1 cable connecting a USB2 device to a USB2 port will try to work at the higher speed, but the speed may be limited and may occasionally disconnect, but it will always be faster than using a USB1 port. Most cables available today will work perfectly with USB2 - the standard Belkin cables have a good reputation in this respect.
