Hi List I got a quick answer to my question about the maximum RAM that Photoshop can use: 2 GB.
It's the maximum that ANY individual program can use on a Mac, and the situation is similar on a Windows PC; here is part of Marc Pawliger's (one of Adobe's Photoshop gurus) reply: >> All apps on all versions of OS X current available, plus Panther when it >> comes out, will only ever be able to make use of at most 2GB of RAM, >> regardless of whether they "see" the additional RAM or not. >> The scratch size reported is in-memory size, and could exceed 2GB due to >> compression. > Some Windows apps can be built to address 3GB, but in general all Windows > app running on consumer Intel CPUs have the same limitation. 64 bit Windows > OSes running on the Itanium and other 64 bit CPUs may be able to address > more. > > --marc Regards, Colin Thomas ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (http://www.colinthomas.com) =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
