The way I did similar was to completely re-lawn it. Photograph a beautiful piece of lawn that's big enough or bigger. Drop that over it on a layer, angle it until the perspective is similar (or take care with this when shooting - the height you shoot at can make a difference) then use a mask to paint out all the bits you don't want such as paths, tidy up the edgings etc. Worked a treat. I did this using various photos to landscape around a new building.
