Yes, it's fairly stable once profiled but until it is it's anyones guess.

Where you can use a profile is dependant on which RIP is used. If it's a
Fiery you can use the profile internally (set up with assumed profiles) If
it's a Splash forget about it. It can be profiled offsite, but it's a drag
as it has about a million printer specific options.

There is a way to set it up to simulate Euroscale in the RIP's. If the
printer is calibrated (the onboard thing) there is a slim chance that it
will actually be somewhat around the ballpark if you send Euroscale V2 CMYK
to the client.

Why not download my test image, convert it with your CMYK profile of couice
and have him print it? Then either compare with a profiled screen or a
verification image so you can show him how much off his printer is...
