Hello list,
This is just a word of caution regarding Amanda's solution from Marrutt
to re-establish the yellow ink flow in her Epson printer.
I had a similar experience a couple of months ago when in the hot spell,
the adhesive on my CIS support bar failed allowing the ink lines to drop
and subsequently (why I don't know) partially drain the ink from the
cartridges. I re-primed the system, did a nozzle check and all appeared
fine for a couple of prints; at this point, the yellow started printing
intermittently, so once more after re-priming the yellow I thought I
would give the yellow nozzle a good work out as Amanda did. I left it
printing pages of yellow bars and blocks over lunch, only to find an
hour later that the yellow had petered out after a couple of pages.
After re-priming again, the yellow nozzle refuses to print at all and I
feel certain that firing the nozzle with no ink present means damaged
nozzles and a head replacement - that is unless someone out there knows
otherwise!
I recently bought an Epson 2100 and although tempted to go down the CIS
route using Lyson Fotonic inks, would like to hear any comments before
committing to these inks - their samples and literature look promising
but does anyone have practical experience yet!
On a different note, (and if this is against list rules I apologize in
advance) I am an Authorized Nikon Dealer and will be happy to offer
members of PRODIG very good deals on any Nikon equipment if they contact
me off list through my web site.
Best wishes
Ian Jebbett
