  A "pink" result after exposure to direct sunlight would make a bit of
sense.  That is, the lens is focussing quite a bit of energy on the chip,
and the blue end of the spectrum carries the most energy.  A pink result
might imply the 'blue' CCD segments have been diminished in sensitivity
relative to 'red'.

But I agree, a single incident, or a short exposure, most probably will have
no effect ... and the effect of longer exposures needs to be studied.  How
long were the above timelapse exposures?
