Hi Bob I thought about the Lacie 20" Photon with the neat clamp, it certainly looked good on paper etc. However I went for the Apple 23" Cinema Display as the image quality was very impressive and the extra screen (letterbox shape) allows more space for tools etc particularly in Photoshop.
I bought direct from Apple Store because of the 12 month on site warranty . I had many problems with Lacie who begrudgingly replaced 3 CRT monitors even then it was not 100%. I offered to visit their workshop depot near Victoria Station to simply point out faults they were clearly not seeing or acknowledging, they refused me visiting them. The Apple certainly profiles well with an Eye One Monitor bought from Neil Barstow. I believe the Apple 20" LCD monitor is also very good with a good colour gamut.
