Dear list, Further to the earlier discussion, I thought I would add that coincidentally my G4 DP 533 system (10.2.8) has totally given up the ghost today.
Like Patrick, I have had to re-install the system after trying Disk Warrior and all other routes which came to mind. Also, like Patrick, I don't know why it has happened - DW's diagnostics tell me that the drive is functioning normally and the computer has performed faultlessly for a very long time. It came about after a problem with the scanner for which the computer was shut down. On start up, that was it - no system. It has been an extremely frustrating day - this kind of failure is extremely costly! Actually, I can think of a reason - I mentioned to a client yesterday how the machine had been a trusty workhorse for three years... Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
