It depends what's causing the fringing, but often it's due to  the different
wavelengths of light refracting differentlly  through the lens. You can tell
if this is the case because the effect will be more noticable in the corners
of the image.

If this is the case, you could try applying a slight pin-cushion distortion
on the green and blue channels to bring them back in line with the red ( or
vice-versa ).

Better still, use a proper lens distortion tool, such as the free one
available with PTools (I think).
