Photoshop CS works fine on Jaguar. In fact, while we haven't found any major
problems on Panther yet, it's been tested more thoroughly on Jaguar, because
Panther was released at essentially the same time as CS, so we didn't have a
final version of Panther for testing.

I have a similar mess of peripherals on my main work machine and upgraded to
X for the same reason. X asks for the location of a 9 system folder when
installing; it uses this for classic after adding a couple of things to it.
I (and most others) have had no problems with this, though installing to a
separate partition is clearly a more conservative approach.

The two big problems I ran into were:

1. The Finder's built-in disc burning support only creates coasters on my
Yamaha CD burner. I haven't tried Toast Titanium, but that's the standard
recommendation.

2. I have an Epson 2200. The X drivers are bad, especially if you switch
between glossy and matte or plain paper. Each time you switch between the
photo and matte black carts on X, you have to delete your configured printer
and reconfigure it. Also, if you like your output centered on the page, you
have to create custom paper sizes with equal margins. And those custom paper
sizes sometimes go away when you delete the printer configuration to switch
cartridges.
