Hi my name is Chris Harrison.
I am a freelance photographer and lousy typist. I started going digital 2 years ago when I could no longer get good cibachromes done for my folio. I am now set up in one of the rooms of my home with a G4 epson 1290(lyson inks) and an Epson 2450 scanner. The scanner is ok for my own rough work but anything serious I get a proper scan done. I am on a steep learning curve and my second copy of Real world photoshop. Martin evenings book has also been a great help as I am primarily an old fashioned photographer who essentially wants to recreate what I could do in the darkroom , only with more precision. As I learn more I am becoming a little more adventurous but I am learning mainly how to get a photo from my camera to the printers exactly how I want it. Here in Norway there is still some resistance to digital work when it doesn't originate from the printer thats something I am working on. My website is under construction And I will give everyone an invite to the opening. I have been a member of afaep since the mid 90s and heard about this through them and also the recommendation of Neil Barstow who did some printer profiles for me which i am very happy with. I have just received my first digest so I am away to crank up the ram to 100% ( I have 1.5gb and i could never understand if it was on 80 % why did the operating system suddenly need 300 mb or there about ?)
I look forward to taking part in the lively discussions
Mvh
