I believe the term is often known as cracked, kracked or [k]'d amongst young
people m'lud :-))

For the academically curious try a Google search on "photoshop CS paradox"

Incidentally, if someone asks you why keyboard shortcuts are not working in
their PC version of CS, they may be using an early cracked version.

Although it is a classic bit of FUD (fear,uncertainty,doubt) put about that
all kracked software is unstable. It is always worth remembering that your
copy of Photoshop[k] might have some more unwelcome code added in addition
to that which kills the product activation - your machine may be running a
bit more than you think.
