Been processing out some RAW Canon 1ds files today with ACR, and have
noticed that images shot with the color balance set to "Cloudy" look
terrible within the default settings for such in ACR. Processing out the
same images within Canon's File Viewer Utility, they come out as expected.

While I can produce acceptable files from ACR, it does take a considerable
amount of work. There are other issues within ACR such as multiple colors
within the brighter tonal range of a golf ball shot on grass; magenta, red
and blues, almost posterized. I have find none of these issues with FVU.

I like the amount of control ACR provides, but....kind of a drag to have to
use them all to get the image where you'd like it.

I was hoping for a better RAW conversion with CS over 7.1, especially for
such a popular and capable camera as the 1ds, but I haven't seen it.
Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but I noticed similar problems between
Capture One and ACR when compared to FVU. FVU isn't perfect, but getting
you just about there in 16bit for further corrections within CS isn't bad.

Any input or similar experiences for other 1ds users?
