Hi Callan What O/S? I don't think you can do it exactly as you ask (but others may know otherwise). If you are using XP, you can set up multiple user log-in's with ease, when you wish to leave your PC simply "switch-user" this allows you to leave your programmes running - and should prompt for your password when switching back to your user ID/log-on.
