I print to inkjet via a software RIP which, until recently, has resided on the same machine that runs Photoshop.
Up until now, this has not been a problem, since I have been using Fine JPEG output from my Nikon D1X. I have now started using much larger files (JPEG derived from RAW) to improve quality and have moved the RIP to a remote machine because the printing process was slowing down my Photshop machine significantly. I have connected the two machines with a crossover (peer-to-peer) network cable and whilst this works well, the data transfer on printing is taking longer than I would like. Is there a faster way to transfer the data - say via Firewire. If so, how do I configure the two machines to recognise the connection? I am using Windows XP Home on both. Thanks for any help you can give. Jonathan Coleman =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
