Is anyone out there using the Gretag EyeOne Photo outfit to create custom
profiles for inkjet printers.
If so can you comment on the quality of your results?
In a word... superb. I've owned several profiling packages/instruments going back to '97. The Photo package is extremely easy to use and the results are far superior to anything I've used before. I primarily use it for profiling an Epson 9600 but I've good results on other RGB devices as well. Whereas I used to make good use of a profile editor to tweak profiles to my taste... consuming hours of time and piles of media in the process. With EyeOne Photo I've yet to encounter a profile that I felt needed any editing. You won't be disappointed. If I have any complaints, its with EyeOne Photo/EyeOne Match LCD monitor profiles. CRT monitor profiles are great. LCD profiles leave a bit to be desired in my opinion. I recently added BasICColor Display to use on LCDs with the EyeOne instrument. Much better results. Another great feature of the EyeOne package is the liberal licensing system. You can legally use it on multiple computers in your office and can even use it to calibrate a client's system if you like.
