When filled with black, my 23" cinema monitor has a slightly lighter 
area at the left hand edge in the middle two thirds, and a slightly 
darker blob at the very bottom left.  The far right edge (about 1cm) 
also looked slightly lighter.

The middle 95 per cent looks an even 'darkness'.

It's certainly nothing I'd notice in a 'normal image'.
