John,

'What would you recommend for a new DVD burner, I'm needing more storage
than I'm getting with the CD's?'

Having just moved up to RAW file capture, we too cant be swopping out CDs
any more when archiving and have just bought the Plextor PX-708A - an 'A'
list item in PC Pro magazine.

It is the first drive capable of writing to DVD+R at 8x which means it will
fill a 4.7Gig disk in about 4 minutes (multiply the DVD write speed by 9 to
get a comparable CD write speed).

It will even write at this speed on some 4X media.

Only problem we have is when burns sometimes fail at the top speed. Also
does not like multi-session which also fail from time to time (though
previous sessions data is not affected)..

Both these issues, I suspect, are because we are using the wrong (cheap)
media.

Anyone out there recommend the safest DVD+R disks to use. Bearing in mind we
use around 2 a weeek, in would be nice but not vital to keep the price down.
