1. it's NOT a fisheye. (I don't think you want fisheye for your use)
2. It's a lot wider than 16mm
3. MTF charts of the DX lenses suggest better performance than 35mm-format lenses. (Nikon Japan has these MTF charts. Unfortunately I don't have the exact link, but they're not that hard to find. )
