I thnk this is down to me - something local. My second CS machine runs the actions with no problem - no freezes.
Also had another 'funny' on the freezing copy of CS: I added an extra 512 Mb RAM this morning, bringing my total RAM to 1.5 Gb. Now my Scratch Sizes on the Status Bar are all wrong!! Whilst the available RAM shows as 1.34Gb, what I would expect, loading a 12Mb PS file shows that 1Gb of memory has been used!!!! This useage then actually drops as more layers are added!! This is clearly not an accurate readout because even when the scratch size is shown as well over 2Gb there is no HDD activity. Looks like I have messed up that copy of CS. I will reinstall after Christmas but not until I have explained this to Adobe so there is no problem reactivating the software afterwards!!!
