I have been off list for a while, so to re-introduce myself, I am a freelance photographer, based in France, shooting mostly editorial features and corporate stuff.
I need some advice on printers.
I currently run an epson 1160, profiled by Thomas H & Neil B.
However I am pitching on a project which requires 70 x prints perday as client giveaways.
The prints will be either 7 x 5 (9mb) or perhaps 10 x 8 inch (20mb). I am worried about printing in such volume and am thinking that I might need to consider a different machine
(or may be 2?), perhaps with a bulk or roll loading paper system.
My 1160 is the biz for folio prints and show prints, but it may not be fast enough for this quantity of output. Also we will be on the road for a month, following an event. So compact and robust would also be important as will print speed. Any thoughts?
Also, need some advice on the best portable firewire external HDD for the job. I currently run a lacie 120gb firwire drive, but it is not very portable.
