Good Digital camera files are clean and can be adequate at 11Mp, but files
from scanned film, even 6 * 6 cm @ 4,000 ppi, is 81Mp or 240MegaBytes.

On my HP I usually printed 6,000 * 9,000 pixels @1200ppi, on A3.

Scanning at a lower res can eliminate the grain, and may produce a more
pleasing result, but I always thought that, if I could see the grain in the
print, I had reproduced all the detail from the original.
