I'm having problems with the trial version of Capture 4 (supplied with the View 6 software CD) that came with my new D100. Although the program installs and runs fine, the bit that I'm really interested in playing with - the custom curves feature - doesn't work. The dialogue box opens fine, but where the sample image should be there's just a bright magenta box. There is a histogram in the curves box, though, so it's obviously loading picture data - just not displaying it. Trying to load one of my own NEF images doesn't help, although the fact that the histogram changes when I do this shows that something's happening.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and even downloaded the trial version from the Nikon website, all to no avail.
This is on an iMac (17" 1GHz, 768Mb) running OSX.2.8. It's otherwise rock-solid stable, I regularly repair permissions and run Macjanitor, and there are no software conflicts I can think of.
Nikon tech support is baffled. Has anyone had similar problems, or know of a solution?
