If you want to work on RIP's you need them in your own place with plenty of
time on your hands - hanging around at a dealer for a couple of days will
learn you what's in the manual - sort of like getting a drivers license.
The you need to learn how to REALLY drive (car's and RIP's).

First time I did it, It took me 7 full days to get a ProofMaster RIP and a
7600 to behave like it should (Read: Like I wanted it to behave) in my own
studio. 
Following the manual, which at that point was somewhat inadequate, took
about half a day - and the results were passable, but nothing like what I'm
able to get now...

It's the same story with most RIP's on the market btw.
