Hi All Pixel Pushers,

Just lately I have noticed the odd client saying "but so and so is digital
and he just charges a flat fee of X"

This seems to be coming slightly more from the younger guys who maybe have
not spent enough time with film, if at all! Meaning from the old days of
film, the invoice may be made up of: studio time, film & processing,
Polaroid, props , materials blah..blah.... blah...

My invoices now are similar to the above i.e. studio time, digital captures,
Digital Manipulation, CD & Contact sheet, prints, props, materials, Blah....

The question is, how are you charging things out? anyone else being pushed
for flat fee days?

Sorry if the next bit is too UK specific, but what do you consider is a
reasonable day rate for DIG snapping, it would be interesting to find out
just how much variation there is across some of the snapping spectrum.

Be brave folks, anyone snapping for 250 a day all in, any takers at 2,250
a day plus captures? Split the difference anyone?

OK I guess we all might be cagey about letting everyone know what we charge
but I would like to think my clients like what I do and won't forsake me to
save a fiver :) But you never Know!!!!

We as snappers never have had any real regulation, say like the film/TV
industry so we are a bit of a loose canon when it comes to charging.

Is Dig upping your Ante, or dragging you down
