Hi What format did you get the images from the camera in? Any auto-whitebalance settings tend to give noticeably wrong results for things like sunsets. I'd use raw and adjust afterwards.
On a similar note, I saw this the other day taking some shots of the 'sunset' at the Tate Modern gallery. It's low pressure sodium light - I'd love to see what some of the people snapping away end up with :-) Another problem is that even at sunset, the dynamic range required is a lot for getting the sun -and- the landscape. I have to admit though, I've not pointed a long lensed digital camera at the sun. One other thing -just in case anyone didn't know- It is very dangerous to look at magnified images of the sun, even at sunset. It only takes a moment to cause -irreparable- damage to your eyesight, less time than it takes for your pupil to contract or to blink. bye for now Keith Cooper Northlight Images http://northlight-images.co.uk Photography - Digital Imaging - Apple Mac Consultancy Tel +44 (0)116 291 9092 Mobile +44 (0)780 162 9397 =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
