Dear List

I have a Miglia Mediabank MT-R twin disk array, which is configured RAID 1
(Mirrored) through Apple's Disk Utility. I'm on OS-X 10.3.2. I use the
array as a first line archive for work in progress.

I've started to see corruptions on images I'm dragging back from the drive
array. These take the form of a number of thin black lines running across
the image, as if it has become "scratched". Confusingly, if I open an image
and it shows distortion, then I close the file and re-open, in most cases
the distortion disappears and the file opens OK.

I suspect that one of the drives is failing, or that the Firewire connection
is introducing the problems.

I've been trying to get help from Miglia's UK support team but they're being
somewhat less than helpful.

I want to break the mirror on the RAID array, so I can look at each disk
independently. However, am not sure how to do this through Apple's Disk
Utility.

Can anyone out there advise me on the best way to do this?

Many thanks.

Jonathan Brown
