Have you contacted wacom support? When I recently upgraded from os9 to osx my wacom tablet needed a firmware update. Wacom support were very helpful, they knew what the problem was immediately and emailed me the update within 10 minutes. I know you are on a pc but it could be something similar.
Steve- thanks and yes I have phoned them today uninstalled everything that had to do with the tablet and downloaded the newest driver. Now I hope this has solved the problem...
