Hi All,

Whilst not strictly 'on-list' and at the risk of teaching you all 'to suck
eggs', I thought this had such potential as a money saver, it would be
useful to post it.

If you have this printer, have you turned off the option that stops it
printing when the software detects that the toner is 'Out'?

You can do this by going to:Printer Properties/Optional Settings/Printer
Setting/Toner Out Error and use the drop down menu to change to 'Continue
then press 'Execute'

I am doing a long B&W print run of a Word document (5000 pages) and got an
EXTRA 1500 (full of type) pages AFTER the software told me that the Black
Toner had run out!!

Given that a full cart should yield around 3000-4000 sheets, this equates to
a 40% - 50% increase in yield per toner cartridge!!

The only downside of taking this step is that you do have to keep an eye on
the sheets as they come off because they will keep printing even when the
print starts to degrade. That said, if you know you are going to get around
an extra 1500 sheets, all you need to do is start looking when you are
well through this extra.

Also, the software will still remind you that your toner is low as you start
any print run, so it is unlikely that you will forget that you need to keep
an eye on the output.

Now where did I put that old cart that I swopped out when the Epson software
told me it had run out!!!!!
