Hmmm
on second look it seems that although I loaded the upgrade to CS yesterday I
managed to open PS 7 instead (doh - well it is early on a Sunday morning)
and now that I have opened CS the RAW dialog box is coming up OK.

BUT I am still confused about how PS 7 could open unprocessed RAW files as
tiffs? What sort of  wizardry is this?

Look forward to someone clearing the mists from my brain
