I use an Epson 2100 for most applications and with a
more specific set up, for your needs, it should
perform well with most sources and the media you
mention.

I also use a 7600 a 1290 and an 810, which I have to
say, for a 3 colour cheap desktop (�120 originally),
it ain't bad. But for versatility, proper colour
management and control, pick up one of the new epsons
within your budget and make sure all your drivers,
profiles and media are in check and you should get the
results you are after.

I do use other printers but I'm fairly loyal to Epson
as I've used them for years and am happy to continue,
if a little bias.
