<Can I ask what kind of file sizes you can get off a scan and where you
purchased the scanner?......Cant find one with my local suppliers.

Cheers

Hi Simon,
I bought mine from Insight at http://uk.insight.com/index.php. They're
showing over a thousand in stock and they're only 267+ VAT, less than I
paid just a couple of weeks ago. I've not had chance to use it as much as
I'd planned. I bought it to replace an old flatbed for general office use
and to try scanning some old black and white stuff from my Granddad's WW2
pics! However, fiddling around with 35mm Velvia gets files easily in the
region of 45Mb and some of my Mamiya 645 stuff has given files in excess of
120Mb, more if you save the RAW file in Vuescan. I'd say for the money, it's
very good, but you get what you pay for. File size isn't everything and it
will never match the quality that I get from my local lab's dedicated film
scanner. After I bought it, there was a revue published at
http://www.photo-i.co.uk ,might be worth a read.

Regards
Neill W
