That said, I do shamelessly play the "big bag of equipment" card with -some- clients - it's unfortunate, but if I turned up with a small silver box it may not be appreciated. Hopefully on subsequent visits the previous results will have spoken for themselves. We may not like it, but it is part of the 'business'
Absolutely, Keith - it's where a Fuji S2 (just to throw in a digital reference) falls down, since it looks like an amateur item (unless linked to a laptop). By contrast, a Fuji 680 on a big Gitzo knocks 'em dead, I mean, they really know you're a pro with such a big ugly camera...that cost half what I paid for my S2, incidentally. If people are sufficiently unwise as to confuse equipment with professional skills, let them.
