Supplied with the 14n/Slrn/c cameras is a 6 pin cable. The two extra pins over the 4 pin carry power and are not needed for the SLRs. In theory there should be no problem if you use a 4 pin cable. In practice however there have been some concerns noted where in some OM cables the connections are rather meagre inside the plug and a good connection cannot be made. Other than being aware of this there are no other problems.
