Ah, but that is something entirely different to "colour" not existing
without a perceiver. The light has the potential to display colour but
colour itself has to exist before its potential can be realized. Just as
music can exist without sound, so can colour exist independent of a raye of
light. 
 
I may not know colour theory as well as the illuminati (1776) on this list
but I know enough to be dangerous. FWIW, I think Steve's done an excellent
job of explaining color management to the uninitiated but I like to think I
am a little further ahead than some of the novices that it's aimed at. I
wasn't trying to nitpick but I had my tongue firmly in my cheek...unlike
now. ;-^)
